Where AI sometimes fits alongside a CMS
Drafting the first version of a page from a few bullet points, or getting a rough version of the same article adapted for three different pages so you are not starting from a blank screen. You'd still be the one deciding what is true and what goes live. If you want it to publish without reading it, that's a different conversation and a bad one.
A CMS is for your changes, not ours
The whole point is that you can change things without paying anyone. If the only person who can update the site is the person who built it, you don't have a content management system — you have a hostage situation. We'll build it so the things you need to change often are easy, and the things that shouldn't change are protected.
Picked for your skill level, not our preference
The most capable system isn't the right one if you find it confusing — you'll stop updating the site, and a stale site is worse than an ugly one. We'll recommend based on how you're comfortable editing: a simple page builder for some people, WordPress for others, and we'll explain the trade-off rather than pushing the one we're most familiar with.
Edit on your phone
Most of your updates will happen from a phone, standing in a shop or at a customer's door. Editing a photo caption shouldn't require finding a laptop. We make sure the everyday edits work properly on a phone, because that's where they'll actually happen.
Safe to experiment in
A good CMS lets you try something, see it live, and undo it if it's wrong. We set up previews and sensible limits so a stray click doesn't publish a half-finished page to your customers at 9pm on a Friday.
Not locked in
Your content should be exportable and readable by other systems, because a content management system that only our software can open is a subscription you're stuck with. We use standard formats and show you where everything lives.

Common questions
- What is a content management system?
- It's an admin area — usually behind a login — that lets you change text, images and pages on your website without touching code. If you can use email, you can use it.
- Is WordPress the right choice?
- Often, because it's flexible and there's no licence fee. But it needs looking after, and for a very simple site a page builder is easier to live with. We'll recommend what suits how you work rather than what's fashionable.
- Will I need training?
- Yes, a short one. We'll show you the handful of things you actually need, and give you a written reference. We'd rather you did the everyday edits yourself than paying us each time.
- Can you build a new site on my existing CMS?
- Yes, in most cases. We'll review what's there first and tell you whether it's worth building on or whether a fresh start would be cleaner — rebuilding on a bad foundation just moves the problems.
- What if I don't want to manage it myself?
- Then we will. Plenty of clients would rather not touch it, and that's fine. We just won't pretend it's a CMS if you're never going to use the CMS part.
